I received a couple of messages from people that made no sense. I was asked to check the info that comes up when you type in "Exotic Animals Register". I did. It siad I was a cryptozoologist which I have never called myself and consider to be an insult. I am a naturalist. That gave me a big clue to what was going on.
Myself and the EAR had "no official standing" and were considered disreputable with no credibility.
If you make an entry in AI do not think it is anonymous.
I made an official complaint about the information as well as presenting my credentials, etc.. I also learnt that the smear entry involved people associated with British 'big cat' groups. Not surprising since I have had abuse on two such groups in the past as well as other p[roblems I have outlined on this blog.
Google AI has now corrected the entry and Google itself apologised and any future attempts at this sort of thing they have promised to alert me to as they have to follow the guidelines.
You want to play pretend big cat hunter then go away and play but if you think you can try to tarnish coming up to 50 years study of the subject, work with UK police forces, universities, estates and farmers groups -think twice.
